Target an area with high rat activity by looking for signs such as droppings near food sources, chew marks on wood or drywall, or grease marks along baseboards and walls. Once you have determined the location, place the trap facing the wall and press the set-arm with your foot or hand until you hear a click. For best results, place two traps 5 to 10 feet apart.
